Baby Boomer Woman defines “Boomacious”!

Some of you have asked me to define Boomacious!  So, I’ll try. Boomacious is a Baby Boomer who is so fabulously satisfied with him or herself that God smiles. A Boomacious one embraces her age, weight, aches and pains without allowing them to stop her show. She no longer cares what people say, and most of the time, what they do. She has learned to live and let live. That is Boomacious!

Boomers realize that this life is the only one they will have, so we’ve stopped waiting for things to get better. Things like: when I find that significant other; when I lose a little weight; when I get my teeth fixed; when I win the lottery; when I buy a bigger house; when the kids get their own place. Any of these sound familiar?

In the beginning these reasons for postponing life may have had some basis in fact. They become excuses upon realizing your life has been on hold for years while you waited for these things to get better.

“You need to git up, git out, and git somethin’

Don’t let the days of your life pass by…

How will you make it if you never try”

Years from now I may look back on this website and wonder if I had lost my mind. What made me think I had anything to say and why did I think anyone wanted to hear it? Guess what. I’ve always wanted to write and I’m through waiting. I am so Boomacious that I’m going to tell America what I think! Everyday, if I want to.

Here is my list:

I am so Boomacious, that I wear flats even when I dress up.

I am so Boomacious, I go to lunch, dinner, and a movie alone.

I am so Boomacious, I wear tight jeans and heels at my age and weight.

I am so Boomacious, I dye my hair blonde if I want to.

I am so Boomacious, my significant other might be twenty years younger (he’s not).

I am so Boomacious, I think I’m 50….45!

How has your life been redefined? What do you plan to start doing? Let’s hear it!

Awesome post! Awesome Blog! Awesome new vocabulary word you have created! And I am so Boomacious that I can over use the word “awesome” in this reply (ROTFL).

Seriously though, this is a great concept for a blog. As soon as I got here I thought “Why didn’t I think of this?” Boomacious describes me to a T.

I found you via a link into one of my blogs and am so glad I did.

    Keep up the great work.

PS. Not only have I just returned from a dinner and a movie date with myself but I got blondish streaks a week ago. So you see — I am Boomacious too.
