Actor, producer, and playwright, Tyler Perry is either a great humanitarian or he doesn’t have the budget to lure the biggest actors and actresses. Whatever it is, I like how he pulls black actors out of obscurity and puts them on the big screen. His new movie, “Temptation”, does just that. Which is why I will always patronize him. You’ll note that I say patronize which is different from viewing. Hollywood gives no credit to movies viewed via bootleg. We must GO to the theater.

With that said, “Temptation”, which is scheduled to be released March 29, stars Jurnee Smolett Bell, the little girl, Eve, in “Eve’s Bayou”, Vanessa Williams, Kim Kardashian, Brandy Norwood, Lance Gross, and Robbie Jones.

The story centers around a young married woman, Judith (Smolett), from a trailer park in the countryside of Virginia. Judith is married to her childhood sweetheart, Brice, Lance Gross of “House of Payne” credit. Her mother, Sarah, is played by Ella Joyce, Rock’s wife from the hit tv show, “Rock”.

After graduating from college as a marriage counselor, the only job Judith can find is working for matchmaker, Janice (Vanessa Williams). Among Janice’s employees is Ava (Kim Kardashian) who tries to influence Judith’s personal style choices as related to her new position. Judith takes on a new client, Harley (Robbie Jones), and he challenges everything about her from her marriage to her faith, complicating her life when she enters into an adulterous relationship with him.

Tyler has to have more than one conflict, so it’s no surprise that Judith’s husband, Brice, is going through his own challenges at work, brought on by the newly hired Melinda (Brandy Norwood).

There’s been a lot of controversy over Tyler’s selection of Kim Kardashian, but as he explains it, hundreds of kids line up around the corner to get into a Kardashian store opening.

Says Perry, “She literally has millions of young people following her. I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film. To have the young people that look up to her, see her in a film that is about what happens in life when you make the wrong choices. If one of those young people sees this film and finds the strength to live a better life and not go through what these characters go through in this movie, then we have all done what I feel I’m being led to do here.”

I don’t have a problem with him casting Kim Kardashian. Do you? Why? Why not?
