Grammy Award winning singer, Dionne Warwick is joining the 2011 cast of The Celebrity Apprentice. Dionne has a number of serious undertakings and one of them is a new album of music composed by the legendary Sammy Cahn. She is also the author of a bestselling children’s book, “Say a Little Prayer.”
That is why her appearance on a show like this one comes as such a surprise to me. Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice is comprised of business challenges that pit waning celebrities against each other. Ultimately the last one standing raises money for their favorite charity, also wins the title, and brings some attention to their lackluster careers. Last year’s winner, Joan Rivers, and her daughter Melissa stormed off of one episode before Joan was declared the season’s winner.
We wish Dionne every success, but if she’s going to win, she’s going to have to bring it. The board room is no place for nice women and that is how most of us picture Ms. Warwick. The first episode will air Sunday, March 6, on NBC and will also feature another Black Baby Boomer woman, LaToya Jackson, David Cassidy, and Real Housewife of Atlanta, NeNe Leakes, among others.

January 28, 2011Hi Marla. I’m eager to watch The Celebrity Apprentice this season. Not only do I enjoy NeNe, but I’m eager to see if LaToya Jackson can hold a thought.
