Reprint from 4/2010: Reminder of what is to come
Spring is in the air and I am feeling Bloomacious! I just got back from Montego Bay, Jamaica to find that my spring garden has been showing out! In the fall I always update my spring bulbs, adding new ones or changing the colors completely.
The purple crocuses, and the yellow and white daffodils that I planted last fall had bloomed before my trip and I enjoyed them tremendously. However, due to some work that I had completed on the wall of the tulip garden bed, I didn’t hold out much hope for the tulips.
Guess what? They fooled me! Every once in a while the garden will turn out so beautifully, I have to cut a few to bring indoors. This time, I integrated some cuttings from my white, snow crabapple tree into the tulip mixture.
I was so pleased with what I got, I thought I’d share it with you. Enjoy a taste of spring and the music of Miles Davis!
